Heart 2 Heart by Annemadelein
Today I want to reach out to people I love and respect
dearly. People whom society sometimes neglects and abandon
without knowing the responsibility that they so willingly
carry… This is the parents and caregivers of children with
special needs and the SARDA instructors and helpers. With
personal experience I have realized that an empty cup cannot
overflow into its saucer. This simply means that if you do mot
take care of yourself, you cannot give optimal care to the people
around you that so desperately need it.
Circumstances, problems and programs overwhelm us and we forget
to focus on things that are elementary but so important. We
forget that our own health is priority above our diaries and our
clients/families. We so easily think: “I’m not doing
enough!” or “This is all my fault!” Feeling
guilty and neglecting your own health will not erase the past and it
will not provide a future for yourself and the ones you take care
of. Taking one day at a time and being the best that YOU can
possibly be is enough!
